Turning Blur and Drift into Progress and Momentum

Displeased with your progress lately?  Management team meetings not as effective as they should be?  “What management team?” you ask.  Most aggressive professional speakers only have a few employees. However, your business has several department heads and a president…all YOU.  It may feel a bit odd to meet with yourself but holding weekly management meetings can make a big difference to the growth of your business.

Focus on only one major area of your business; resist the urge to jumble everything together.  Rotate from marketing and product development (first week) to sales (second week) to client services (third week) to internal management/finance (fourth week).  During your first monthly rotation, commit your subplans to writing.  The plans don’t have to be fancy or formal.  If it is difficult to write down who will be doing what, the deadlines, the budget, and desired results, it’s very possible that clear strategies for these areas have not been identified.

Once the use of subplans and meeting rotation has become routine, you can then generate questions that identify any problems prior to the meeting, setting the agenda for the meeting.  Write out the decisions made during the meeting.
